Local people call the country “Sakartvelo”; referring to an inhabitant of the central Georgian region of Karli-Iberia. A cool fact about Georgia is that the Georgian folk song “Chakrulo” was chosen to send into space on the spacecraft Voyager. In 2008 UNESCO included Georgian folk music in the list of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. Georgia’s affluent and vibrating chore folk music is world famous. Some scientists suggest that Georgian traditional folk music is the first polyphonic music in the world. There are more than 15 regional styles of folk music in Georgia.
World deepest cave is situated in Abkhazia, in the district of Gagra. The cavers reach the bottom of the cave in almost a month. Hidden in the lavish nature and mountains the vertical Krubera Cave is 2200m (7,200 ft.) deep.
Georgia is one of the oldest countries making wine for more than 8000 years.
